Professional Portraits | A Traditional vs. Lifestyle Approach

Inquiries for professional portraits (a.k.a. head shots) have been filling up my inbox lately and how fun it has been exploring this side of portrait photography! If you are familiar with my style of photography, I tend to favor candid or semi-posed moments as opposed to anything "official" looking.  Each head shot request is unique as I must marry the purpose of the portrait with the personality of the subject I'm photographing... which means I have to sometimes get "official." Meet Krista, my Realtor! Krista helped us with the purchase (and construction!) of our first home four years ago and is in need of a new image for her business card. This calls for a traditional head shot. Think back to picture day at school when the photographer made you angle your head so awkwardly you thought for sure your chin was resting on your shoulder! None of that awkwardness here, however… Krista rocked it! I see the professional, dependable, honest, and beautiful woman that she is. Need a realtor? Let me know and I will gladly pass along her info!

Now meet "Mrs. Chef Esh," an Allrecipes.com PRO! I enjoyed every minute in Traci's custom kitchen last weekend as she needed some photos to update her profile for the site. A member since 2002, Traci has contributed 1,000+ recipes and reviewed over 400 others! Her involvement with the massive online recipe-sharing community and her passion for cooking made her kitchen the perfect location to capture this more casual, "unofficial,"  lifestyle series. We sipped on mimosas while she told me stories of how she arrived at "pro" status and the woes of feeding her sometimes picky children. Traci's easy-going nature, warm personality, and love for cooking are indisputable. See more of what this cookin' beauty has been up to here:  http://allrecipes.com/cook/mrschefesh/
