Jon + Kate | Skytop Lodge Summer Wedding, Skytop, PA

I think back on Jon and Kate’s wedding weekend with incredible fondness. Upon returning home from our mini vacation in the Pocono Mountains, I took to Instagram with a few photo highlights and the caption “quality time is definitely my love language and the last five days have been all about it!” My birthday was two days before the wedding and Curtis and I celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary two days after. Spending time in between with Jon and Kate and their amazing family and friends was truly the icing on the cake of this celebratory long weekend. What I’ll always remember about this gorgeous summer day is 1) how gorgeous it was— the weather, the venue, the people, the details, all of it, just gorgeous; and 2) the moments that brought tears to my (and everyone else’s) eyes— when Kate’s dad saw her for the first time, when Jon and Kate spoke their handwritten vows to each other, and the speeches. Oh, the speeches. Kate’s dad had the entire room wiping away tears with his heartfelt words and the handing over of a small picture of Kate, that he has kept in his wallet since she was a little girl, to Jon. He set the speech bar high, though Kate’s twin sister had no trouble keeping the tears and cheers flowing. There was so much love and joy in the room, I hope everyone felt as lucky as I did to be there to feel it.
